It is that one, looks better in the photo than real life! allthough it is very straight there is some odd corrosion around the rear arches but i'll be putting the 16v ones on anyway to get the clearance - its not as though I don't have enough bits..... :roll:

One important consideration on the abs ones is its easier to recon an arm with a working ABS sensor so as no need to disturb the rusted in bit!

I've only ever found 1 shim inside the countless BX arms I've done I think its usually set to account for machineing ...

I'm not million miles from shrewsbury if you want it fixed at a sensible price - that list doesn't sound out of the ordinary or onerous! only scary at london prices....

The standard 505 is a very tough car, just look at any picture of an african war zone! no idea about the turbo ones but very cool.
If youre planning on using it in the snow how well do they cope with being rear drive?
I'd be more inclined to use a 205 or 309 diesel in the snow as they have plenty ...

Have the tool and brass unions for kunifer so you could just measure the length and I'll make a length- that won't corrode!

whether they fit or not is largely irrelevant as they use the same bearings anyway and its exactly the same job to change bearings or an arm pads for a bx are dirt dirt cheap as well and rarely wear out so unless youre doing 20k a year for 5 years with a boot full of tools it is also irrelevant! how ...

never machined a set of arms ever! worst case the outer seal area might be a bit mullered in which case you have 2 choices, use some chemical metal on the back of the seal to fill any gap -as it doesn't do anything.
Or just fill it all with grease! arm bearings all last the same length of time ...
